A new "Ice Age" spin-off, titled "The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild," is now available to watch exclusively on Disney Plus. The animated adventure is an original streaming movie, so it made its debut at home rather than premiere in theaters first. All Disney Plus subscribers can watch without paying any extra fees.

The family-friendly film follows possum brothers Crash and Eddie as they find themselves trapped inside a dinosaur cave. After being rescued by their friend, the one-eyed weasel Buck, the brothers embark on a new mission to save the Lost World and make new friends along the way. The cast includes voiceover work by Simon Pegg, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Justina Machado, Vincent Tong, and Aaron Harris.

"Adventures of Bulk Wild" is the first "Ice Age" movie to be released following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019. The sixth entry in the franchise follows "Ice Age," "Ice Age: The Meltdown," "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," "Ice Age: Continental Drift," and "Ice Age: Collision Course."

Is Disney Plus a good streaming option for parents and kids?

The "Ice Age" franchise is part of a larger library of family-friendly movies and shows that make up the bulk of the Disney Plus catalog. This includes pretty much every animated movie Disney has every made.

The big selection helps make the platform our top streaming service pick for kids, but it's lacking when it comes to more mature content for older viewers, like R-rated movies. You can read more about Disney Plus' family-friendly features and content in our full review from a parent's perspective
